Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! Keeping in mind the above said quote our commitment at Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti School, Guwahati is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers and inspired learners, prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century.
High standards and expectations for each student in regard to academic performance, co-curricular participation, and responsible citizenship are the foundation of our school. It is with pride that we hold these high standards and ask each of our students to commit to maintaining the extraordinary record of achievement and contribution that has been the legacy of Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti School, Guwahati students. It is the contribution of our students to our school community that makes our School an exceptional learning community. Full participation in academic and co-curricular programs and a willingness to act responsibly as an individual within our educational environment are the factors that enable all to have a successful and enjoyable year.
Great schools are a product of the staff, students, and the community, working together for the success of our students. For us as a school, success will be measured when EVERY student walks across the stage at graduation and is college and career ready. This is a lofty goal, but is one that we should be talking about every single day. When all three of these stakeholder groups are working together towards this common goal, the sky is the limit to how much students can achieve.
Through a holistic learning approach students learn to know, learn to do, learn to be, learn to live together and learn to live sustainably. By emphasising these abilities we believe that our boys and girls are well balanced individuals who are happy and self-motivated to achieve their personal best. Today, classrooms have become centres for collaborative and comprehensive learning that would enhance the growth curve and prepare the students for challenging roles in the future. Therefore, there is a constant need to update and upgrade. We as educators also need to learn, un-learn and re-learn to remain contemporary and fill the need gaps in learning.
As I embark upon my journey with Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati, I take on the task of character building as an essential area of growth along with perfection in the other disciplines for my students. Education is all about providing the specialized skills and negotiating tools to the coming generation that can be used constructively for the betterment of mankind. Education is not merely acquirement of facts but also of values which help us improve the different facets of mankind.
I appreciate our parent fraternity for supporting the school in every aspect. I also laud the relentless efforts of our teachers for giving their best in bringing out the best in each child. Finally I would like to tell my students that "Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those, who don’t rest on the laurels of the past." I am also very sure through collaborative effort we can achieve more to benefit our students who are the future leaders of tomorrow.

Best Wishes
