Sanskrit Diwas

Sanskrit : The language of the Gods. Sanskrit is said to be one of the most ancient languages on this planet. Now in honor of the language C.BS.E. has put together a guideline for schools to celebrate “ Sanskrit” as Sanskrit Diwas. Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti Guwahati had the privilege of organizing this event for the first time. The esteem guest of honor was Dr. Rajendra Nath    (H.O.D of The Sanskrit Dept. Guwahati University). The event started with by lighting the Lamp and appreciating the Rangoli. Students then prepared charts showing the significance of “Sanskrit” as a scientific language. The guest and principal were delighted with the presentation. Next up was the Recitation Competition for The Sreemad Bhagvata Pura  (or Bhagvat Geeta) where the young students again stole the spotlight. Later the students performed Dance Drama and a Group Song in “Sanskrit”. The main attraction of the event was the Qawwali which the students sung in “Sanskrit”. Although students were introduced to this vivid language only a year back the fluency in speaking Sanskrit has touched the mark. And we could proudly say that watching them perform Dance Drama, Songs, etc live was truly all inspiring.
