STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN OLYMPIADS, 2023
Ananda Bhaduri participated in the 64th International Mathematical Olympiad held at Chiba, Japan in July 2023. 112 countries had participated in the same. 

The Team India rank was 24 in 2022 and this year it is 9. India has bagged a single digit rank after 21 years. Stupendous performance by the Team with 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 2 bronzes.

Ananda Bhaduri bagged a silver medal in his debut attempt.



STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT, 2023
Akshat Maurya of class X has been invited to witness the Chandrayaan-3 Live Scientific Experiment from ISRO Bengaluru.

The lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 landing is scheduled for 23rd August 2023. Post landing a few scientific experiments are lined up on 25th August 2023. Akshat has been selected to witness this particular live event from the ISRO Bangalore.

THE SELECTION:
The top 2 candidates from each state among the YUVIKA participants have been selected to witness this event. Akshat topped Assam.

ACHIEVEMENT AT THE 32nd ALL ASSAM INTER DISTRICT ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIP
Sahaj Agarwal won the Bronze medal at the 32nd All Assam Inter District Artistic Gymnastics Championship which was held at the Assam Police Reserve on 25 and 26 March 2023.

The AITA Championship SERIES 2022, was organised by the Imphal District Tennis Association IDTA under the aegis of Manipur Tennis Association at IDTA Complex Lamphel,  Manipur. 
At the event, Kritika Kalita of class VIII- B Won the 1st Position Under 14 years Girls Doubles. 






ACHIEVEMENT AT THE 2nd SUB-JUNIOR NATIONAL ROLL BALL CHAMPIONSHIP, 2022
 Danish Khadria of Class VI won a Gold Medal at the 2nd Sub-Junior National Roll Ball Championship held at Guwahati on 5th and 6th November. 







ACHIEVEMENT IN DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL SYMPOSIUM, 2022
Team SBGJ consisting of Shivesh Poddar, Harnoor Kaur Uppal and Sameer Mundhra won the Runners Up Trophy in SYMPOSIUM (Asian Parliamentary Debate) organised by Delhi Public School, Guwahati on 5th November, 2022.
Shivesh Poddar won The Best Speaker Award in the same event.

The 37th All Assam Taekwondo Championship,2022 was held at Bihutoli, Duliajan from
17th to 20th August 2022.

Cadet Girls (U-41kg) category.






ACHIEVEMENT IN DEBATING, 2022
Our school won the finals in the Inter- School Debate Competition- War of Words, organised by Maria Public School and bagged the first prize.

Shivesh Poddar was adjudged the BEST SPEAKER and Harnoor Kaur Uppal the MOST PROMISING SPEAKER.






ACHIEVEMENT AT 15th KAMRUP DISTRICT INTER SCHOOL SWIMMING MEET 2022

The  15th Kamrup District Inter School Swimming Meet was held on 13 and 14 August 2022, at North Guwahati
 Bedapranshu Nath of Class 3 brought laurels to the school by winning two Bronze medals in the 50 metre Freestyle Stroke and 50 metre Breast Stroke events respectively.






ACHIEVEMENT AT 1st AII ASSAM INTER SCHOOL FINSWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP 2022

The 1st AII Assam Inter School Finswimming Championship 2022 was  held on 14 August, 2022 at 
Shemford Futuristic School Guwahati.

ACHIEVEMENT IN QUIZZING, 2022
Our school  acquired the 3rd position in the Inter School Quiz Competition organized by Income Tax Department, NER as a part of celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. 

Out of 16 participating schools, Diptiman Borah of XI A and Nirangkush Sarma of IXB acquired 1st position in the elimination round to reach the final round competing with 6 leading schools.






ACHIEVEMENT IN MEGHALAYA MUN, 2022
Twenty six children participated in the MEGHALAYA MUN that took place in SHILLONG.

Mugdha Medhi, a 12th class student, has secured the first position in the War of Words Debate Competition at Sciento-Matho-Fabio - an online Science and Maths based event hosted by Birla Vidya Niketan, New Delhi. Students of classes XI and XII from all over India participated in the event. 

Mugdha is also a member of the Student Council, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati, in the capacity as the Head of Activities and Outreach (Girls).

All India multi-lingual childrens'/youth/womens'/play/dance and music competition-2015
In the All India multi-lingual childrens'/youth/womens'/play/dance and music competition-2015 held at Cuttack, Odisha Swagat Nath of class VII achieved the 2nd Best National Award for Oddissi Dance.





Utkarsh Kumar Jha and Punit Shyamsukha were the winners of the CBSE National Science Exhibition, 2014.


Their project titled  Rhizosphere Engineering: An eco-friendly technique of improving sericulture was developed under the able guidance of Mr. Sandip Sen (faculty ) Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti,Guwahati . It was presented at the CBSE  Regional Science Exhibition .  There were ninety teams and only ten teams were selected to represent  at the national science exhibition held at New Delhi in September ,2014.

The school  team was one of the ten teams selected.

At the national level, there were 315 schools which had put up their exhibits . SBGJ was the sole participant from the entire North-East . It was a proud moment when our school was declared the  winner at  the national level too.

Now, Utkarsh and Punit have been invited to  participate  in the International Intel Science Fair to be held at Pittsburg, United States.










The Assam Boys Team represented by the students of the school in the 6th Mini National Roll Ball Championship held at Indore, M.P from 2nd to 4th January, 2015 reached the quarter finals.

Ms Disha Agarwal of Class IV who also represented Assam Girls Team clinched the Bronze in the same Championship.







A team of three from the school made us proud by representing Assam in the 60th National School Games held at Jagdalpur, Chattisgarh from 5th to 9th of January 2015 and winning the silver medal .

 Harshita SaiLakshmi, and Prachurjya Kashyap excelled in the poster-making competition organized by Unison World School under the aegis of AFS on the occasion of Earth Day. Eight of our talented students have excelled in their Trinity College London Drums Exams.

Grade I: Krishnanshu Deka, Kaushav Paul, and Parvez Tanveer Rahman achieved First Division with Merit, while Jaideep Kashyap and Anubhav Kalita clinched Distinctions.

Grade II: Raghav Taparia and Kaushal Pareek secured First Division with Merit, and Praneel Sharma attained a Distinction.

ACHIEVEMENT IN ARCHERY AND SHOOTING, 2024
A TARGET SET, PRECISE AND STRONG!

Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati celebrated the remarkable achievements of two of its standout athletes in a special ceremony today. 

Himashree Kalita, Class IV, an accomplished shooter who trained at the Assam Rifle Association, earned multiple medals in shooting, including a prestigious Gold in the under-16 category. 

Equally impressive, R.S. Rayna Kashyap, a talented Class V student, made her mark in archery, in recurve category, clinching Gold at state-level competitions and securing a spot in the National Archery Championship.














ACHIEVEMENT IN CHESS, 2023
The Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati Chess Team demonstrated remarkable prowess at the 2nd Inter School B.N Khaitan Memorial Chess Competition held at Assam Valley School Tezpur on July 18th and 19th, 2023. The team clinched the coveted overall Best School prize, showcasing their strategic brilliance and dedication to the game.

In the Under 19 category, the team secured a dazzling Gold medal, while in the Under 17 category, they achieved a well-deserved Bronze medal. The individual events showcased the exceptional talents within the team:

The Inter School Swimming Championship was held at Delhi Public School, Guwahati on 25th and 26th August, 2017. Around 250 swimmers from 13 schools participated in the event. Our school got 12 Silver and 4 Bronze medals .

MISSION XI MILLION FOOTBALL FESTIVAL IN GUWAHATI.
A football festival was organized by All India Football Federation (AIFF) throughout India. There were about 500 participants from all over Assam. Twenty students from our school participated in the event. Three students namely Prahast Garg (Class VII ), Hirak ( Class VIII) and Raneel Islam ( Class VIII) got selected for Adidas agility test among the top 15 players. From which 5 students were selected for the next level. Prahast Garg got selected for the next level. He secured the no 1 position and got a gift voucher worth Rs 6,700 from Adidas.  All the students got a certificate and the top 15 got a football for participating in the event.




OIL AITA SUPER SERIES TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP 2017
Ishika Chakma of Class VII   won the under 14 Girls singles and under 14 Girls Doubles at the OIL -AITA Super Series Tennis Championship held at All Assam Tennis Association Complex , Chachal , Guwahati  from 17th to 21st July.

Ishika Chakma won both the Singles and Doubles trophy.  She won the Girls under 14 singles title and the Girls under 18 Doubles at the All Assam State Ranking Tennis tournament organised by N.F Railway Sports Association which was held at N.F. Railway Tennis Academy, Nambari, Maligaon, Guwahati  from 8th to 13th April.





Exposure Trip to Delhi by the School Cricket Team
The school Cricket Team of Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti had gone for an exposure trip to Delhi from 22nd March to 30th March. The team was led by Subham  Agarwal and accompanied by Wahid Basir Ahmed
 ( Cricket coach ) and Manab Medhi ( Roller Skating Coach ). The trip was a memorable one.
The team had played 6 matches out of which they won 4. The leading run scorer was Priyanshu Barua  and the leading wicket taker was Subham Agarwal. The children gained a lot of experiences from this trip.

Sarala Birla has been awarded the best school trophy in the Inter School Swimming Competition organised by Sanskriti The Gurukul as a part of Odyssey - The Inter School Cultural Fest. Dhrupad Sharma got the best swimmer award.

The school quiz team comprising of Anik Das , Souvik Baruah and Raghu Pratap clinched the runners up trophy at ABDUL KALAM 'An Inter School Quiz held at Royal Global School on 15.10.2015.








11th East India Debate, 2015, Assam Valley School, Balipara, Tezpur.
The debating team from our school took part in the 11th East India Debate held in Assam Valley School. The team comprised of Arshia Amin Choudhary (class XII), Riddhiman Barooah (class IX), Bishakha Jajodia and Abhijit Hessa (both class XI). The members of the team performed brilliantly with Bishakha winning the best speaker in the preliminary round, Abhijit Hessa winning the most promising speaker in the Quarters and Arshia Amin Choudhary winning two best speaker and two most promising speaker awards in the entire competition. The team went on to the semis but lost to Vasant Valley School, Delhi by a margin of just 9 points. Altogether it was a good experience for the students with a brilliant exposure and a chance to debate with the most renowned schools of India.

In the All Assam School Chess Tournament held at South Point School , Guwahati from 1st May to 4th May 2015, Dhrupad Kashyap secured the 9th position,  Anchita Sharma secured 3rd position in the girls under 11 category while  Jaideep Kashyap secured 3rd position in boys under 7 category .










LAWN TENNIS

Ishika Chakma was adjudged runners up in Girls under 14 singles and girls under 12 categories in AITA – Championship Series Tennis Tournament 2015  held at All Assam Tennis Association Complex, Chachal,  Guwahati from 11th April to 13th April 2015. 







SBGJ BASKETBALL TEAM

The School Basketball team (BOYS) won the Keshab Chandra Patowary and Dashami Patowary Memorial GSA Inter Club & Inter School Basketball Championship 2015.

The team members were:
