A group of 18 children accompanied by 2 teachers for the Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati represented the school and participated in the first edition of Birla Tech Convention. Thirteen schools from all over the country took part in this event organised by B. K. Birla Centre for Education, Pune. The convention revolved around the world of mathematics and information technology with numerous contests such as Treasure Hunt, Human Calculator, Human Snake and Ladder, Math's Model Exhibition, Robotics show, Power point presentation, Sketch Up, Website Designing, and Quizzes for both the subject Parnab Mukherjee, the Chief Guest and quiz master for the event.
With a stellar display of skills, the students of Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati earned the first position in the Treasure Hunt and Robotics Show, second prize in the Math's Model Exhibition and Sketch Up and the third place in Human Snake and Ladder.
