MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...COVID 19 AND SBGJ GUWAHATI
A smooth
journey screeched to an abrupt halt! Our thought train reached a fearfully
nondescript station called COVID-19. The clouds of impossibilities engulfed us.
The flames of the fearful Corona almost instantaneously set ablaze our future
goals, plans and prospects. For a while the entire world came to a frozen
still. An eerie silence prevailed! Lockdown was announced overnight and every
breath spelt morbid scare. Thus began our COVID-19 journey and the challenge
that we at Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati had to take with our heads held
high!
We had to rise
like a team of Herculean Soldiers. And that we sure did! From then, our every
passing moment has been spent on positivity and pragmatism. We decided not to
regret but to repaint the roaring black COVID clouds with strokes of smiles and
good spirits. We were determined to fill the canvasses of the lives of our
children with the colours of the rainbow where no dark clouds could be ever
seen! And to accomplish this, we did massive brainstorming, prepared flowcharts
accurately, worked on our plans and focus - all this to work out a good future
for our students so dear to us.
Most
importantly, we reached to all our stakeholders and ensured that our plans are
agreed to and had takers. And that is what set us back on the rails! All we
needed to do was to dive deep holding hands of each other with our spirits held
high. We worked extensively on management, admin, webinars, online content
development, PPTs, audio, images, excel sheets, interfaces, data sharing,
connectivity, schedules, assessment etc. in order to ensure that we make our
classes worthwhile. Our team marched ahead undaunted, unstoppable and spirits
inexhaustible and at every step we were blessed to work under the rich canopy
of knowledge, guidance and experience of our Honourable Chairperson, Mrs
Jayshree Mohta, who showed true concern for each one of us.
We did not pay
heed to the chaos and the cacophony of the commercialism outside but listened
to our souls. We found the best that suited our system. Once again our
brilliant Faculty Members proved that they are true assets of our School. We
extended the much needed empathy looking at the financial hurdles of our
esteemed parents during these difficult times.
While our
hearts go out to the million frontline workers who are risking their lives every
moment to protect ours, the worthiest way we thought of helping them was by
staying indoors and training our students to utilize their time on academics,
reading books, thinking out of the box, creative writing, poetry, art, sports,
yoga, activities and in different creative pursuits. We at Sarala Birla Gyan
Jyoti, Guwahati have taken an oath to keep ourselves engrossed with creativity,
stay inside and help fight back COVID 19. Our attempt will be to showcase the
talents of one and all in phases. It is for the onlookers to appreciate our
wonderful School through the work and dedication of our children.
