VOLATILITY UNCERTAINTY COMPLEXITY AMBIGUITY
On the 26th of June, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti welcomed a plethora of new faces as well as a few nostalgically familiar ones as we commenced with the much anticipated return of the 6th edition of SBGMUN 2023 after a hiatus of 4 years.
DAY 1: The day started with the Opening Ceremony which consisted of the auspicious Ganesh Vandhana, felicitation of our Chief Guest Mark Stone of Avenues, Shillong who gave a rousing address to the gathering after which the gavels were given out to the Executive Board members of UNHRC, UNSC, AIPPM, IPC and PMEM. This was followed by speeches by Principal Sir, SBGMUN Director General,, Sameer Mundhra and Secretary General, Gaatha Todi who declared the conference open to raucous applause. The ceremony was capped off by a dazzling dance performance by our Head Girl. The Opening Ceremony was followed by intriguing sessions of diplomacy in the aforementioned committees accompanied in the middle by breaks for tasty refreshments and delicious lunch.
DAY 2 - The day began with a continuation of the compelling committee sessions that saw a lots of twists and turns accompanied by the yummy servings of lunch and refreshments . The day ended with the groovy Socials by DJ Avi who brought the house down with the delegates dancing to his energetic tunes.
DAY 3 - Sadly like all good things, SBGMUN 2023 had reached its end. After concluding sessions of their respective committees everyone broke for lunch which was followed by the Closing Ceremony which included an impressive band performance by SBGJ students, handing out of certificates for the Organising Committee, honouring of the Executive Board with mementos, announcement of achievers by the EB members for each committee and the closing words by the Secreteriat closing another chapter of this wonderful conference. Although a few were awarded, everyone won as they learned, enjoyed and made unforgettable memories.
