A group of 50 students from class-XII accompanied by four teachers – SandipSen,Mallika Hazarika, Neelanjana Biswas and Rita Chakrabarty were taken for a six days excursion to Goa and Mumbai.
The days in Goa were spent visiting North Goa and South Goa. Children were taken to a few beaches such as Candolim, Bagha and Anjuna. We also visited Ford Aguada, majestic churches like the Basilica of Bom Jesus, each one of us were mesmerized by the beautiful craftsmanship.
Our next stop was Mumbai, ‘the city of dreams’. The visit to the Film City was an absolute dream come true for everyone. We were awestruck looking at the locations and sets where many known films and daily soaps were brought into existence. Few of us were even luckier to be able to meet and interact with some of the characters. Marine drive was another cherished memory. The view of the blinking lights along the coastline had us all spellbound. The day was glorified with our visit to the historical and emblematic landmark, Gateway of India.
This trip was relaxing as well as informative. It made the students audacious, responsible and taught them to be better in everything, be it the time management, taking care of their belongings, understanding the value of money. The trip also helped the children to expand their knowledge and experience a culture different from theirs.
The smiles of cherished memories and laughter of joy and mischief on the children all throughout the trip were a sign of a successful excursion.
Special thanks to the Principal of our school Mrs Vaishali Sharma for organizing such a lively trip.
